Oh, Man. I am so totally straddling the fence on this one. Tom
makes a good point. And so does Derannimer. <wrings hands>
This is kind of complicated and involves (oh boy!) policy issues. Do
we think it is better to have big, huge, hulking FPs, or do we think
it is better to have smaller FPs but more of them? As applied to the
current discussion, we could either consider anything MOM-related as
belonging together, or not. I don't know; I'm just thinking out loud.
Also relevant is whether DEs would be substantial enough as a stand-
alone topic. I don't know.
Anyway, this is what Debbie wrote back in February to this list,
which addresses this very issue. It also contains her
DE/Auror/Justice outline, which might help us figure out what issues
belong together.

Hi all --
Cindy suggested we post our outlines here, so below is a very
preliminary
outline I came up with for DEs, Aurors and Wizarding Justice, as
revised to
reflect Porphyria's comments. It's not an organizational outline so
much as a
list of topics, which I did based on a quick review of what's in the
catalogues. (BTW, the catalogues were very easy to use -- I just used
the sort
function, which allowed me to search several topic terms at once. So
I can get
started without waiting for Dicey's master catalogue. For some
reason, though,
I couldn't get my filter to work.)
I'm planning to start on the justice side, and Porphyria will start
with the
Dark Mark.
Penny suggested combining Government with this FP. We're thinking
about
whether that makes sense. It fits with the Justice side well, but not
as well
with the DE side. I had somewhat envisioned the pairing of DEs,
Aurors and
justice as suggesting a cops and robbers flavor, and there's a lot
more to the
government FP than law enforcement. Does anyone else have any
thoughts on
this? If we don't combine them, I will do a Government update as part
of this
project.
Advice on what's left out would be much appreciated.
Debbie

Indecisive!Cindy -- who thinks this outline looks fabulous (and will
lead to a truly enormous FP) and who can't think up any new topics
for it
