I think this is a fine idea.  It doesn't, unfortunately, help us in
deciding what to do about *past* posts.  So we're back to square one
on those, I'm thinking.  

Cindy -- who reviewed the Yahoo TOS and can't for the life of her
figure out what the "legalities" are that might prohibit moderators
from deleting posts from the archives of a Yahoo group, which means
the answer must be painfully and embarrassingly obvious for a lawyer
to have missed
