I forgot to do an update last Sunday, owing to computer crash, and the
database will be down from tomorrow morning, so here's a final update
apres duluge:
PROGRESS
We have now coded 68598 posts, and rejected 40337, a satisfying 58.8%
(up from 58.4% last week).
We have reviewed 74 of our 106 sections, so well done everyone.
Don't know when any of us will be back here, but I will get on with
Voldie review (half completed) and do many housekeeping tasks on and
off over the next month or two. Check in when you want.
My big achievement has been completing a re-read of the whole series in
10 days, just closed OOP half an hour ago. Somehow, it was really
important to do this, to be in the same mental frame as the characters
who will only have moved on a few days or weeks, although we have
waited two years.
And like last time, the hot, dry weather in the opening and closing
paras of OOP is uncannily like the real weather we were having in the
UK in 2003, and the same is true right now, complete with threatened
hosepipe bans. Gives a sort of heightened sense that the stories are
taking place in real time.
That said, I still found most of the first third/half of OOP as
stodgily unreadable as I did the first time. Hoping against hope she's
on better form with HBP.
Cheers - and remember no spoilers here until everyone has confirmed
they've read it.
