Second attempt at replying - last one got eaten, I think...
I spent last bank holiday Monday at Hampton Court with the
stepkids. They were bored - kept deliberately touching things so a
one of the guards would tell them off (GRRRR!).
Handy hint - do not deliberately get lost in maze, if there is any
chance of rain. Otherwise, what starts as a rather pleasant pastime
can end up being quite uncomfortable and frustrating.

It drives me mad. We have friends in Kensington, Chelsea etc (they
aren't fabulously rich - just ex-pats with generous housing
allowances) who shudder at the mere suggestion of travelling
southwards. One family of QPR supporters came over last year when
Charlton were in the 1st division - and moaned about the fact that
they had to drive through Deptford and Peckham to get here. They
felt "threatened" and had to keep the doors of the car locked.
Honestly!

It 's also a lack of tube thing. North Londoners, in my experience,
are very wary of going anywhere which isn't on the tube line.
Overland trains are therefore an alien concept to them. Yet they
expect us to go and visit them at the drop of a hat.

Oh well, this is site for arrangements, not rants. Sorry everyone!

Catherine
