As there are some younger people in our group, and some non-British people,
I thought I would clarify the relevant drinking age laws in the UK:

You have to be aged 18 to buy alcoholic beverages or consume them in the bar
of licensed premises.
Persons aged 16 or 17 can buy beer, cider, porter or perry for consumption
with a meal not served in the bar (for example, in a restaurant area).
Persons under 14 are not allowed in the bar of licensed premises during
permitted hours unless a Children's Certificate is in force.

In short, as we are all aged 14 or over, there will be no problem meeting up
in a pub.
