I have to say I wouls reccomend LOTR simply because it is an epic in a way 
that, unfortunately, Harry is not.  That is in no way saying I like Harry 
Potter *less*.  In fact I hate being asked which I prefer or which is better, 
but on the grand scale of things, LOTR is an epic and a really amazing film 
that I have no doubt, people will still be raving about in 20 years time.

So there's my opinion
