The extra scene

The extra scene, supposedly written by JKR has been worrying me for a 
while, and I can't recall any messages on this aspect of it:

In PoA when Harry hears his parents final minutes, he hears his 
father saying words to the effect of "Lily, he's come, I'll try and 
hold him off, you take Harry and run" (sorry I haven't got my books 
at the moment). In the film though, Lily hasn't even taken Harry out 
of his cot yet. Arguably, she could have been at the opposite end of 
the house to Harry, and had just run to get him. I got the feeling 
though that she hadn't tried to get him and make a run for it. Maybe 
she didn't think she could get out of the door, but you'd think that 
she'd still pick Harry up to protect him. Unless, she didn't think 
that Harry (or perhaps even herself) were under any threat - in which 
case, why not?

Any thoughts on this?
