Until I see someone else play Pettigrew onscreen, I won't be able to
picture anyone but David Bamber, as he played Mr. Collins in
BBC/A&E's "Pride & Prejudice," as Peter Pettigrew. Tubby, balding,
slimy, obnoxiously obsequious ~ egad, other than the fact that Mr.
Collins wasn't evil, he *was* Pettigrew.

And speaking of "P&P," I was also one of those who cried "hear,
hear!" to the previous application of Colin Firth to the role of
Lupin. Mmm-mm good! :-)

And for the record, I would give a thumbs down to Viggo as Lupin, and
possibly even Black. My opinion is that Viggo has zip in the way of
charisma, and that both roles *need* someone with charisma (this is
based on Viggo in "A Perfect Murder" and LotR). Black, imho, needs
less ~ he's a bit more savage, more reactionary, less subtle, which I
think Viggo could possibly pull off. But still, I think someone else
would be better. And since he's not British, no problema. I
actually like Robert Carlyle ("The Full Monty") or, oooh, maybe Rufus
Sewell or James Purefoy ("Knight's Tale") for Black.

Oh, that would be nifty!

Micheal Caine would be good, but I'd rather keep Richard Harris as
Dumby than loose him for Caine. If Jeremy Brett was still alive,
he'd be fabulous as Moody, imho. Alas. How about Derek Jacobi?

All righty, then, this would be my cast list of miscelleneous uncast
characters so far:

Aunt Marge: Alison Steadman (played Mrs. Bennett in the
aforementioned "Pride & Prejudice.")
Remus Lupin: Colin Firth
Sirius Black: Rufus Sewell
Peter Pettigrew: David Bamber
Prof. Trelawney: Emma Thompson
Cedric Diggory: Orlando Bloom (with "Black Hawk Down" hair ~ dark
buzz/crew cut)

Mad-Eye Moody: Derek Jacobi
Olympe Maxime: Judi Dench
Viktor Krum: Johnny Lee Miller (if he'd buff up a bit, of course :-P)

And I shall cast Cate Blanchett as the rumored future female DADA
teacher. Regardless of the fact that 1) I know nothing about the
character yet, and 2) Blanchett is Australian. Because I adore Cate
Blanchett.
