Until I see someone else play Pettigrew onscreen, I won't be able to
picture anyone but David Bamber, as he played Mr. Collins in
BBC/A&E's "Pride & Prejudice," as Peter Pettigrew. Tubby, balding,
slimy, obnoxiously obsequious ~ egad, other than the fact that Mr.
Collins wasn't evil, he *was* Pettigrew.

I can see that too, but I don't think Pettigrew should be tubby as
such. He was described as having lost a lot of weight (from stress)
by the time he transformed in the shreiking shack, so I think he
should be skinny. I can't get Ewen Bremner (Spud from Trainspotting)
out of my head, but I suppose he's too young. I'm with Marcuswh2001's
second choice: Paul Whitehouse.

Some others:

Madame Maxime: I didn't come up with this one, I think I read it in a
newspaper, but I think she'd be perfect: Cher!

Rita Skeeter: Kathy Burke. Pics here if you don't know her:
www.blue.uk.com/ kathy/gallery . Then again, maybe she'd be even
better as Aunt Marge!

Remus Lupin: well, I've had my heart set on Ewan McGregor all along:
he could just look so _wolfy_ with sideburns; but if I can't have him
(I bet G Lucas won't let him do it anyway!) I'll settle for Colin
Firth.

Sirius Black: this has been the hardest for me to visualise, as he's
my favourite adult character, but I think Rufus Sewell looks okay.
Viggo Mortensen just isn't Sirius for me.

Mad-Eye Moody: someone suggested him way back in the archive (no idea
where, sorry) and that was when I realised that was who I'd been
seeing all along: Frank Kelly, who plays Father Jack in Father Ted.
There's a really Moody-ish picture around the middle of this page:
http://www.father-ted.co.uk/pages/pictureg.html

Cornelius Fudge: if you've seen the Vicar of Dibley, I think Gary
Waldhorn, who plays David, can do the right mix of officiousness and
bumbling for Fudge. My other choice, for a slightly more serious than
comedic Fudge, is John Fortune. Plus, he already has experience of
doing corrupt/misled politicians on Rory Bremner's show (though I
can't stand Bremner!). This isn't a great picture, but it's the best
I could find:

_campbell/john_fortune.htm

And those are all I can think of for the moment.

Can I just say I'm immensely glad to have found this list (and the
book one)! I've spent the last month just trawling through the
archives, feeling like Hermione must have felt when she first saw the
Hogwarts library! :-D
