That would make it quite difficult on the theatres, which hate really 
long films, as they aren't able to have as many showings, which makes 
sense, as admission is the same, whether the film is 90 minutes long 
or 2 hours and 45 minutes. With a 5 hour film, you'd only be able to 
have 2 showings a day, which would be a huge drop in income for the 
theatre owners.  Not that I'm a big fan of most movie theatre 
chains ...

I think releasing the film in 2 parts, about a month apart, is a 
pretty good compromise. It's better for the theatres, and we don't 
have to wait too long between parts 1 and 2.
