Yup.

Oh yes, I saw it and felt exactly the same way. I found the whole thing
waaaay too hyperkinetic. I've never seen it before, but Rosie absolutely put
me off. I felt so sorry for Daniel Radcliffe.
I was talking to a friend about his appearing so shy, and she went off on a
rant about "so-called shy actors, actors can't by definition be shy, it's all a
con" Well, I disagree. Although it might not be that Daniel is _shy_ so much
as he really does appear extremely nervous in interview situations. Especially
with a maniac like Rosie looming over him. what's up with that?
I am also a latecomer Elijah Wood fan [busy trying to rent some of his best
films--also Viggo Mortensen's--so little time! If only I didn't actually have to
WORK for a living! :)] and was absolutely stunned by his work in The Ice
Storm. Yikes!! [NOT a film for the younguns on this list, I might add...] Here's
a link for the trailer if you haven't seen it. Don't be misled by the narrator's
perky tone. This is a totally depressing movie. In a really good way. In fact,
I've decided it's one of my favorites. "R" rated for sex and drugs, I'm
guessing, although I saw it on tv with the language bleeped out.

What gets this back to Daniel is that I was thinking about Daniel's work after
however many HP films he does. It seems at the moment that his parents are
not pushing for him to take on additional projects, but there will come a time
when, if he decides to continue acting, he'll be in other films. When I saw the
Ice Storm , which EW must have been what, 15 or 16 when he made it?, I
couldn't help but think--YIKES--trying to imagine Daniel Radcliffe in a few
years in some heavy-duty serious, depressing film like it. Whoa!
Anyway, from what I have seen Elijah Wood seems to have survived being a
child star without too much lasting damage? [Not that I know anything about
him] So hopefully Daniel, with his parents supervision, will also.
Yes, like the rest of you I just want them all to stay young, innocent, and
protected...
Ivis the elderly
[feeling REALLY elderly today...]
