Movie Translations

  Greetings!

I can't wait for the CoS/f to come... Not because of it's
great value to the world, but mostly for personal reasons: I
*love* watching fantasy films in various translations - they
usually send me into hysterical laughter. This is especially
great when films are translated by people who didn't read
the book beforehand...

I have only seen PS/SS/f a month ago, and since then I
have seen three different translations, and each had a
"jewel" or two.

  (to start with...)

  "Who are you?"
"Rubeus Hagrid, Keeper of Keys and Grain of Hogwarts."

  (...or another variant...)

  "Who are you?"
"Rubeus Hagrid, Keeper of Keys and Graves of Hogwarts."

  (...McGonagall's phrase...)

"Wood, I have found you a Pisser" (yep, word "seeker"
transfocated into Russian becomes exactly that... ;)

  (...and Hagrid again...)

"Harry, this is professor Quirrell. He will be your
defender against Dark Arts teacher of Hogwarts..."

But the most surprise was to know that Harry is son of
Dumbledore and McGonagall (yep, it was said right in the
beginning of the film...)

Hmm... maybe there are other translations (to different
languages) that we should know about?

Sincerely yours,
Alexander Lomski,
Gryffindor/Slytherin crossbreed,
always happy to throw weird ideas into community.
