I agree, except on Lockhart being given responsibility for returning
Ginny. My impression from both book and film was that the faculty a)
kind of figured out that Lockhart was full of it (I'm sure Snape did,
at the very least), and b) had given Ginny up for dead or worse
already. Sending him off on the "rescue mission" was pretty much an
excuse to get him out of their hair, and little more than that.
