As far as I've been able to remember the spell Snape used was 
pronounced "ih-raneeya ev-an-eh-skah". Whatever it was the way he 
said it made it sound absolutely beautiful IMHO. (and not a little 
like parseltongue.)  I think this is the spell Lockhart tried to use 
(and failed, throwing the snake in the air) and possibly the one 
Harry tried with the same half result.
