That silly little box!

I'm pretty sure that it's just a little present that everyone got at 
the Christmas feast.  If you look at the feast scene, and look at the 
table settings, you can see that Harry, Hermione and Ron each have a 
wizard cracker and then a little red box (similar to the green one) 
tied up in string.  

Someone probably brought their box back from the feast unopened and 
forgot it on the table where Draco sat.  

Make sense?
