I thought it was funny that Draco first asked Crabbe and Goyle if 
the box belonged to either of them, before he took it.  I guess 
we're to assume that if it had, he would have left it alone, but his 
sense of honour stretches only so far.  Apart from his own little 
circle, it's pretty much open season on everything and everyone else.
