Good I'm glad I'm not alone in admiring young Kenneth. Saw him as Hamlet
(alas I did not see Derek Jacobi as the Dane, much to my regret.....). I
really liked KB in the series he did on tv with Emma Thomson, I am sure
someone will furnish the name.... which made me read the books, and yes they
were good too.
Branagh knows a lot about different things and does them all well, as such
can be difficult for a pigeonholing film society to find a niche for. I
like his directing style, many don't, particularly his penchant for long
tracking shots (this means you have to pay attention so people hate it!) so,
all in all, and even if I cannot download the pixies, and I wish his hair
had been slightly longer (but that might be the Stephen Fry influence...)
That aside, I think London will be rather empty on 8th November, all in
all...............
