The point, I think, is that they can create monsters that aren't
there, they can create an elf, then certainly they can make Harry's
eyes green. I don't think anyone is impling that we dump Daniel in
favor of an actor with green eyes. I think the common belief is KEEP
Daniel but give him green eyes.

According to a comment made by JKR, Harry's eye color is going to be
very significant to the story. So how, his eye color will play a major
role. And I assume the belief is that it's going to be hard to make 4
movies with a blue eyed Daniel, and then suddenly have to figure out
how they are going to resolve the story line.

Personally, I think they can avoid it for a while, and phase it in
when it becomes significant to the story. I heard they tried to get
Daniel to wear green colored contact lenses but they bothered his eyes
too much. Let's remember that he was 11 yr old at the time. Now that
he is older, or at least when the story requires it, he might be able
to wear the green contacts. Also, if the films prove to be
continuously successful, they can afford to use special effect to
color his eyes.

Just some thoughts.
