I actually can't find a quote where JKR mentions that the specific *color*
of Harry's eyes is significant.  Only that he has his mother's eyes.  If it
were in fact crucial to the story line, I'm sure she'd have said something
about it to Chris Columbus before they released the first movie.

What I find odd is that the calendars and poster books for the first movie
had Daniel's eyes edited to a bright, bright green.  And then the movie came
and they were blue.  Then this year's calendars etc. were released and his
eyes are blue.  (though Rupert's are brown in one picture, what's up with
that?)  Now the third trailer is released and we have some scenes with green
eyes.  What is the deal?
