<<<One more try. I know the people are probably referring to the color of
his eyes and Lily's. But is it the color that makes them special? Would
it really matter if in the movie they changed it to him having his
mother's *blue* eyes? The color is what people notice, probably. And JKR uses
that to draw our attention to it (over and over). But do all people with
green eyes have magical powers that others don't? Or does the color matter
at all? Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?!?!>>>

There, there, Richelle <pats her arm> I used to get blank stares from my students as well. But I do know what you're talking about. Who cares whether he has Lily's green or Lily's blue eyes, as long as it's consistent, right?

But that's just the thing...his eye color _hasn't_ been consistent. For instance, in the first movie, his eyes looked very blue, but in some pre-release pictures, his eyes are very green (the one I'm thinking of is where Harry is with Oliver Wood holding the snitch for the first time. Here's a link to that picture...scroll down the page: http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/2001_06_24_archive.html ) Then, for the second movie, everything up until this third trailer has Harry's eyes being very blue (posters, first 2 trailers, etc), but in the third trailer, his eye color is green in most of the scenes, and this is according to Melissa A. at Leaky Cauldron..."Two quick things about the trailer. One, in most shots, Dan's eyes have been changed to rather bright green..." (10/15/02 on the main page still at www.the-leaky-cauldron.org ). I couldn't see the changes in eye color myself (it all looked blue to me), but that's because I'm working with an old monitor. All I am asking for is a little bit of consistency, Mr. Columbus!

Please don't misunderstand...I absolutely *adore* Daniel Radcliffe as Harry, and I will be just as happy with Harry's blue eyes, just like his mother's blue eyes... as long as the director chooses one color and sticks with it! It's almost as if they didn't think fans would catch that --but ha HA! They've got to get up pretty early in the morning to fool these die-hard Potter fans at HP4GU! Well, at least me, anyways...

I put a little bug in Leaky Cauldron's ear about this to see if they could get a definitive answer from Chris Columbus when they interview him (can you believe that TLC is hitting the big time! Good on them!). But, I might be the only one that this bothers, so they may just toss my email out like a plate of moldy tripe. Oh, well...at least I did my part. Shutting up now!

~Lilac, who is jealous that Richelle has less than 25 students in her class, because when I taught first grade, I rarely had less than 25!

I say so in Year with the Yeti." --Gilderoy Lockhart, COS
