New countingdown clips/fan mail

I just watched the new clips--a generous helping they've served us--and I
hate to say it, bu although I loved to see Harry & co made flesh in familiar
and much lived situations, there were so many details I was unhappy with. I
realize of course that I can't expect my own particular vision to show up on
the screen. My own movie version, playing exclusively in my head, is more
comprehensive and accurate in terms of a movie adaption than the real thing
on screen could ever be and it must be so, but oh, I thought several of the
clips were so toned down in intensity compared to the book and I don't know
why the director would choose this approachs.
For instance, the broken arm clip: I always envisioned Harry moaning and
sort of writhing on the ground with pain. The line "not you" I rather
thought he said more to himself than straight to Lockharts face in that odd
fashion. (I know I'm seriously knit-picking here, but where better to do it
on this list? I would love to have you all persuade me that I'm wrong,
wrong, wrong, and that all shall be well in the end).
Another incident toned down on screen: The "eat slugs" scuffle. Where, oh,
where is the UPROAR at Malfoy's mudblood-line, and why does it feel like
everyone takes at least two seconds two long to pick up on their cues? WHY,
WHY?
I felt the same way about line-delivery in the Flourish and Blotts clip--as
though everyone was continually taking a step forward before saying
something and politely waiting for each other to do their thing.
More toned down stuff: the transformation in Myrtle's bathroom is very
dramatic and intense, but in the clip a smooth, noiseless and painfree bit
of business. (Although I suppose Chris wanted to avoid any
Hulk-associations that would have inevitably turned up inevitably if the
scene had been done as it is described by Rowling)
I LOOOOOVED Dobby, though.
OK. Please, everybody, jump down my throat, give me a good teeling off and
show me what's what. I really need it. I don't like feeling so critical and
I wish it would go away...
One question, completely unrelated to the above: I thought it would be fun
to know whether any of you have written fan-mail to any of the cast and
whether you received any replies. Any takers?
