POA casting question

<waves> Hi, illyana -- I hope I'm not one of the 'fangirls', even
though I'm pretty disappointed.  Not in Oldman himself, but in who the
production DID NOT consider.

Jina Jay is the casting director, and it's going through her first,
from minor speaking roles all the way up to the new principals.  It
was her assistant who as much as told me Jason Carter was never even
considered.  After all the work I and others put into asking PLEASE
that they take a look at him, I think my disappointment is pretty
justifiable. [sad :) ]

After she gets people narrowed down, the director -- and film is the
director's medium, as TV is the producer's -- will have a final
yea-or-nay on the casting decision.  It varies from production to
production (individual to individual) how soon the director would get
into this part of the decision-making.
Jina Jay is best known for her casting of 'Billy Elliot', although she
has a pretty long string of credits other than that film.
