Hmmm, too easy to pre-judge a director *years* before he makes the
film, however IMO, a large component of the success of "Four
Weddings.." should be attributed to Richard Curtis' brilliant
script. The only other film of his that I've seen was "An Awfully
Big Adventure" which, despite starring Alan Rickman (and yeah - that
Hugh Grant person) really left a stange taste in my mouth (anyone
who's seen the film will know what I mean). On the other hand, he's
produced a couple of other films that I've enjoyed ("Carrington"
was absolutely wonderful), so I'll probably reserve judgement until
I've actually seen the film - if his involvement ends up being true,
of course. Actually, now that I think of it - perhaps his earlier
involvement with Alan Rickman will result fewer Snape scenes being
cut....
