Hmmm, too easy to pre-judge a director *years* before he makes the 
film, however IMO, a large component of the success of "Four 
Weddings.." should be attributed to Richard Curtis' brilliant 
script. The only other film of his that I've seen was "An Awfully 
Big Adventure" which, despite starring Alan Rickman (and yeah - that 
Hugh Grant person) really left a stange taste in my mouth (anyone 
who's seen the film will know what I mean). On the other hand, he's 
produced  a couple of other films that I've enjoyed ("Carrington" 
was absolutely wonderful), so I'll probably reserve judgement until 
I've actually seen the film - if his involvement ends up being true, 
of course. Actually, now that I think of it - perhaps his earlier 
involvement with Alan Rickman will result fewer Snape scenes being 
cut....
