Under the rule that "sometimes the simplest answer is the right one", 
it is my guess (just my guess! Don' be mad!) that the shots in which 
the kids are dressed in muggle clothing might just be dress-rehearsal 
shots - you know, fixing the lighting, getting the camera angles 
right, lining up the shot - maybe they weren't in costume because 
they didn't need to be.......?
