Runes have almost unlimited meaning and i chose the ones that best
suit sirus. Still after the events of book 5 i think thats its very
unlikely that the director choose the runes by accident. I know the
animal kingdom is not the usual meaning for Algiz but i found it on
this site
http://www.multiart.nu/grimner/english/texts/readingrunes.html#algiz

and i thought that it was to good to pass up (animagi and all) I've
never heard that meaning anywhere else either.

The site also says about algiz
"It represents inner strength, being in contact with all the animal
forces within and without."
Now thats a description of an animagai if i ever heard one.
There probably wont be any references to runes in previous potter
film due to the new director but maby its somthing to keep an eye out
for in the future. Maby we will get to see Barty jnr or Malfoy's
number in future films.

About Azkaban assigning sirus the runes maby they used some magical
means to do so?
Or maby its not his prision number but some form of wizard ID number
chosen or assigned when they leave school.
