I've always loved the visual of seeing the movie!

And me.
I had heard about these books about a boy wizard who goes to a
wizarding school (mainly because of some of the controversies
surrounding them) but did not think too much of them accept that they
were "children's books". I saw the first movie on DVD and thought it
was a fun movie but did not watch it again for awhile. At the push
of a friend, I went to see COS at the theater last year and enjoyed
it enough to buy the first book and see if I might like it too.
Before I was done with the first book, I went out and bought the
other three (followed by the smaller books for Comic Relief) and
could not put them down. I am now in my tenth reading of SS/PS, have
read COS, POA and GOF nine times and OOP five (after being one of the
many fanatics at a local midnight release party this past June).
This does not include the many times I have listened to the books on
CD. I have never had a set of books effect me as these have. In
this past year, I have also gotten ahold of many HP collectables of
which our home can now rightfully be called the "Harry Potter Central
for Greater Tulsa". I get teased at work with the number of HP
related things I have at my desk (and I will immedeately show them my
watch and key-ring).
And of course, I enjoy the movies too (but I am most grateful to
them for introducing me to the books). We saw COS two more times at
the theater before getting the DVD and have watched it too many times
to number. And we cannot wait for the POA movie.
Yeah, it's an obsession but it sure is a fun obsession!
