I'm glad someone else mentioned Ray Bradbury - as brilliant as Macbeth is,
the book 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' is always the first thing I think
of when I hear that phrase, and the first thing I thought of when I heard it
in the trailer. I think Cuaron's style has a Bradbury sort of feel to it as
well, it's dark and foreboding but also quite beautiful and mysterious,
slightly unnerving but draws you right in just like the Dark Carnival in the
book. I wonder if Cuaron has read the book or it was unintentional and he
only meant it to be a Macbeth reference.

Anyway I can't wait for the movie. I'm not too fussed about them leaving
this part and that part out of the story, when I go to see a movie, I go to
see a movie, not a book onscreen. My gripe with the HP movies has always
been that, as films, they've concentrated too much on plot and cramming in
as much story as possible, a lot of it unnecessary, had waaaaay to much
expositional dialogue (which is due to just plain laziness in my opinion),
and have been visually cliched ('hey, let's shoot Lucius from a low angle
and bathe him in shadow in every scene, just in case the audience hasn't yet
realised that he's EVIL')and the cinematography etc has often been static,
repetitive and boring. Cuaron seems to have solved this problem and is
showing us the story, not telling us (which, and I know I'll probably have
to duck rotten fruit here, after reading those huge chunks of unending
description in Book 5, I reckon J.K. Rowling could probably learn to do a
bit better herself). I think this is already my favourite HP movie and I
haven't even seen it yet!
