Gary Oldman as Sirius Black

I have to admit that Gary Oldman looks nothing like how I pictured
Sirius; however, I think he's an excellent choice for the role.
Oldman is an excellent acor and is quite capable of pulling
off 'demented' (if you'll excuse the pun). In PoA Sirius comes off
as intense and off balance even after we find out the truth, and it
takes a skilled actor to pull that off. I would rather have an actor
who can act than an actor that totally looks the part but can't act
for beans. Rickman's Snape is excellent even though the actor is
almost twenty years older than the character.
Now to discuss continuing the movie series with different actors,
the kids in particular. It's a lot to expect for an actor to
continue in their rolls over a period of about a decade, which is
what the movies will take if they continue to produce them in 18
month intervals. I would think this would apply even more so to the
kids who will have extremely odd teenage years if the majority of
that time is spent on a movie set. The recurring role of Dumbledore
has already needed to be recast due to actor death, and from the
trailers it looks like Gambon's portayal will work rather well. I
will hold my opinion on recasting recurring roles until I see the
results in the new movie. Who knows if the movie series will
continue for that long, though I hope it does.
