I was recently told that even this kind of copying is now illegal in the US.
Does anybody know if that's true? I used to have a tape player in my car and I
had no qualms about copying my CDs to tape, and my understanding was that it's
legal to make a copy of a legally-obtained CD for your own use. Certainly this
has been the norm with software as well. And for those of us with young
children, it would be nice to be able to make a backup copy of a DVD to avoid
having them ruin the original DVD, although many DVDs have copy protection that
prevents copying to VHS. Does anybody know what current law is regarding
copying music CDs, software, and home movies?

Sherry
