I've long thought Ron is a seer, so this was the first I picked up on as
possible foreshadowing because it confirms my preconception. I didn't think
about your other possible interpretation - and since it's just too terrible
to
contemplate, I'm rejecting the idea for no good reason ;-P My heart stopped
for a second when I read that part in OotP where Harry walks in on Molly with
the boggart, thinking that was The Death.

I read somewhere that this was the result of Jason Isaacs playing around in a
comic-book villain sort of way, and the director liked it so they put it in.
Did anybody else read that?
Sherry
Yes, I read that about Jason Issacs too. I don't think JKR said Chris
Columbus (who did the first two films) did any foreshadowing, but she did say it
about Cuaron's film.
I don't think Ron's the seer -- if you read canon carefully, you'll see
there are MANY MANY times that HARRY predicts the future -- the most obvious
being when he made up his answers in his Divination exam, and what he predicted
came true (Buckbeak alive and flying away). Ron's right when he jokes, but I
don't see that as "seeing the future" myself.
And Dumbledore's speeches in PoA are simply odd. They don't relate to the
story, they don't make a lot of sense in some ways, and they're out of
character for the Dumbledore we know. I didn't like them at all (the two I didn't
like being the "Light" one with the candle, although the candle bit was cool,
and the one about dreams, although the celestial ceiling was gorgeous). I
did like his comment when they got back from the time-turner incident -- that
was cute and in character, IMO.
