Sorry to bring this up again, folks, but I am behind in reading
posts...have just had the experience of trying to read *a whole month's*
backlog from the main list; won't do that again in a hurry!

Yes, JKR read and approved the script, but it's entirely possible that the
homosexual interpretation never occurred to her, since she had been so
specific that it's the lycanthropy that's the problem.

well, on  behalf of all British jazz-loving, tweed-wearing, non-violent
straight blokes (and there are a lot of us), I would suggest that your
criteria for judging sexuality are not reliable....not in this country,
anyway. And Lupin is a Brit!

No, he doesn't.
The line is 'bad idea, bad idea'. It's not well-enunciated, sounding more
like 'badeye .... dear', but it definitely isn't 'Padfoot'. Moreover, it
isn't Lupin who says it. Watch closely next time. Lupin is whimpering
whilst the line is being uttered, and the lips moving in time to the words
are...Ron's. He's talking to Hermione.

or perhaps not, if it hasn't occurred to her. Don't forget that Cuaron is
mischievous on the subject of sexuality, and things that he puts into the
film in this respect may have nothing to do with JKR.
