For all of your information - the response regarding children
handling DVDs was also related to the person who posted and commented
on the condition of rented DVDs. Why should people who rent DVDs be
inflicted with other people's series of unfortunate events? Do what
you will with your own DVDs, but all parties should show respect when
handling property that is not their own.
And note - I mentioned a specific couple in the store I worked at and
their toddler - I still do not understand why they would want to pass
on a DVD to a child who clearly does not show any respect for the
product, as noted by the father!!! of the child.
Some children handle things better than their clumsy parents, but
don't pass on damaged goods to alter other people's enjoyment of a
product.
Oh, and for further DVD/CD information: never use windex to clean the
surface of a cd or dvd. If there are scratches on the mirrored
surface, use a repair kit to fill in the scratches. If you hold the
CD/DVD up to the light and can see through the scratch it is garbage
and can not be repaired. The label actually conceals the information
and protects it - once it is cut into, you might as well start a nice
wind chime arrangement.
