HP DVDs in wide screen vs full screen

OK, this is a tad off the HP topic, but as we are discussing wide vs. full 
screen...I bought LOTR Return of the King extended for my sister for Christmas. 
She really wanted full screen (we had the debate: she doesn't like the skinny 
strip, and I like the additional info). But I could only find this version in 
wide screen; so that's what she got. Just curious if anyone has seen it 
available in both? I thought perhaps since true LOTR fanatics would buy this 
latest superlong version, perhaps even in addition to the ROTK released 8 
months ago, that they would gravitate towards the non-reformatted widescreen 
version as Peter Jackson had originally filmed it???
