I am not so sure about this, i just found the visualization of that as
unnecessary. If they would bother to waste time to visualize Snape's
fabricate side of his story (which is NOT Canon either, in the book
Snape never made up stories that he "heroically" stood in front of the
kids to protect from harm; that itself is also messing around with
JKR's story), such visualization would made much better use on
storytelling for stuffs like the re-telling of 'Prankster" incident.
But as far as we know they did not cast younger version of James and
Snape, so that seems unlikely. I just find it unlikely they would waste
time to visualize unnecessary stuffs could have told in one line.
