I just find it unlikely they would waste time to visualize unnecessary
stuffs could have told in one line

Hmmmmmm.....well.....I guess we'll just have to see, then, what that picture
is all about...^^;

The going theories at this point then are (As far as I can tell):

1) The script writer re-wrote the scene so that Snape is awake and in a
'hero' role (Happens often enough in Hollywood when the writers decide to
drop and/or combine things from the books--or, conversely, when the script
writer decides to do 'his' version of what *he* thinks should have happened,
(which usually pisses the book author, and the book fans, off when it
happens.) It's a cool idea, but way off from the book, how Snape's
character was developed and presented by Rowling, and how the translation
from book to movie was handled the first two times....

2) It's really a visual re-enactment of what Snape tells the
Ministry...(Casting himself as the hero, of course). This film technique is
often used to expand on a situation that happened in the book to add to the
'drama' of the movie. So, could be pointless, but it's more eye candy for
the audience (and might actually help to add a humorous moment for the
watching audience--who KNOWS Snape is lying....^^;)

3) It's JUST a publicity still, and actually won't be in the movie (Anne
notes that she hates when this turns out to be the case....no fair teasing,
Hollywood!)

It'll be interesting no matter what the explaination for that little shot
is, though...

**gets out pom poms and starts to chant, very quietly so she doesnt get
murdered by people who dont feel the same way**

"Go hero Snape, Go hero Snape!!!"

**Snorts at own foolishness...heh**
