Ah yes, the age thing ;-) Actually, most people do acknowledge that in the
books, the kids age from 11 to 17. The question about the actors is that since
each film takes over a year from actual shooting to release, that the actors
will slowly creep up in age faster than the characters. This is true, but hardly
a problem, at least in my opinion. As someone else said, even if they are 20,
19 and 18 when they do the last movie, it's not that big a stretch to think
they are all 17. And as many people have pointed out in various forms about
this argument, there have been countless actors on TV here in the US and in films
who play much younger ;-) The infamous Beverly Hills 90210 is a prime
example. Those actors were much older than their characters ;-)
Our TV Guide here in the US had an article about young stars recently on
popular shows and not one of them was anywhere near the age of their character.
Most were playing high school kids and they were all in their early twenties.
The age thing is a handle that has been tacked onto the HP movies for some
reason and everyone from comedians to talk show hosts seem to think they have
to make a joke about it. Last night Jay Leno said that Harry was getting so
old that in the most recent movie his girlfriend was Demi Moore ;-)
Silly? Yep. Cheap joke? Yep, but that's popular culture for you ;-)
Personally, I hope the three actors continue - it wouldn't be a HP movie
without them, to me at least ;-)
