For an HP age reference, the girl they cast as Fleur
is 21 portraying a 17/18 year old. So they've at least
said that a 4 year age gap is acceptable. But really,
I think they're just making a big fit about nothing.
It really just depends on what the kids want to do and
I don't think age is that big of an issue. I'm about
to turn 20 and I look almost exactly the same as I did
when I started high school at age 14. Once the actors
reach about 17 and puberty is basically done their
physical appearance shouldn't change drastically for a
few years. So as long as JKR doesn't take a huge break
after book 6 I can't see age being a problem.
