Daniel is becoming quite a brilliant actor. I loved the scene with
him angry about Sirius betraying his parents. Great emotion shown
there.
absolutely. His rage was so heartfelt and real! I remember reading that
he'd talked to his dad about when his dad heard someone being murdered across the
street (when his dad was 8 and they lived in Northern Ireland during the
'troubles'). That and listening to what Rupert called 'scary music' made this kid
from what seems to be a relatively happy home (he seems to be pretty normal,
after all) capable of showing such rage? Amazing. I can't remember the last
time a teenager (and a young one at that) had me in goosebumps in a movie or
even a trailer. What kills me is that I just read this is the shortest HP
movie yet. ARGH!!!!!!!! With the quality we've seen in the trailers so far, I'd
hoped it would be longer!! And they're expecting kids to sit through a 4 hour
show on Sunday night (granted, there will be commercials for potty breaks,
but still, four hours is four hours), so why can't we have longer movies?
grrrrrrrrrrrr

>>one thing troubles me...this is the second movie where Hermione
says Ron's lines from the book. In Chamber of Secrets she said all
the stuff about what a mudblood was, it came off rather well but that
was not her line and in this one it is her that says the line to
Sirius about 'if you want to kill Harry you will have to kill us
too.' Don't get me wrong I think she is also become quite a good
young actress but these lines I think would show a non-goofy side to
Ron. He seems like the comic relief in the films and I would love to
see him like he was in the chess scene in PS/SS. I would just like to
see his potential as an actor shown. <<

I completely agree! I like Rupert as Ron, and I love his very funny website.
I don't understand why all the interviews seem to be Dan and Emma, not Dan,
Emma and Rupert -- RON's his best mate, honestly, Hermione is also a best
friend, but the boys are like brothers. Ron shows courage in the books, yet he's
the "comic sidekick" in the films (which nearly always means he's going to die
-- that seems to be pretty common in films). I don't honestly think JKR is
going to kill Ron off any time soon (hopefully never!), and I cannot figure out
why they keep giving Hermione Ron's lines -- or why they won't let Rupert talk
in interviews more (yes, he does tend to talk about the icky things like
eating slugs and getting a mouth full of grass rather than speaking more maturely
like Dan and Emma, but still, the kid's funny and I'd like to hear more from
him). Dan's my favorite, but please, more Rupert!
