>>I've read where Steve Kloves said Hermione was his favorite character so
maybe this is why he gives her some of Ron's lines. My problem with this
though
is that I think the films may be diminishing Ron's character... <<

I think he might do that because a lot of the times Hermione has very little
to say. Someone on the Leaky boards posted a link to the Chamber of Secrets
script (which was rather horryfying to read because it had a lot more continuity
than the movie, like foreshadowing about Ginny's "problem", and it actually
had the MoM issuing Harry a warning for the whole Dobby using magic thing),
and its odd how if you follow the book Ron has A LOT more to say and do than
Hermione does. I think the line swapping for the most part is just to balence her
out. Most of the time it doesn't really matter, its just when they give her
*Dumbledore's* lines or when they take away *important* lines from Ron.
As far as the Shrieking Shack scenes goes, I'm hoping that they are just
"splitting" the line (for those who haven't seen the French trailer, in it
Hermione says Ron's "you'll have to kill all three of us" line). Because in the book
Ron says it twice; it could be that he says it the first time, and then
Hermione repeats it because he can barely talk because of his leg. That wouldn't
bother me, as long as Ron says it *first*, that's one of his best moments in the
books, I would hate to see it turned into a "Hermione moment".
