I completely agree! However, I saw the first movie before reading any of the 
books, so I wonder what those who had an image of Snape beforehand thought of 
him (anyone care to share?). I wonder if the casting department looked at him 
in Dogma and thought that seemed Snapeish (although I suppose they didn't, 
he's got a lot of other work to his name), his performance in that is almost the 
same, only not as cold. Sometimes, though, I worry that he made Snape's 
sarcasm a little too funny. Of course, that could just be perspective, when reading 
you are sort of living through Harry, so what happens to him happens to you in 
a way (if that makes sense), but its less personal watching it. I can enjoy 
and hate Snape at the same time.
I agree with the comment made earlier today about Kenneth Braughn [sic?] 
playing Lockhard too. I couldn't stand him in the book, but in the movie Kenneth 
Braughn's acting made him really funny.
