It's not the unions, which are considerably less powerful these days than
they were 25 years ago. It's the government, who are abolishing
movie-makers' tax-breaks for filming in the UK.
As you can tell, our politicians are really, really far-sighted...

Actually, I believe that PoA was one of the few movies not shut down. That
was an actors' strike, done to protest that actors didn't get a share in
the profits of the movies they were making. On PoA, agreement on a
profit-share had been reached, so no strike was necessary.
