[HPFGU-Movie] Broom Chase Scene was Re: World Cup and OoP film

Maybe it's that I come from a
background of show buisness and
understanding the ideas behind it, but
to me, changing the Thestrals to brooms
isn't that big of a thing.

While it CAN be done, the question is
more of, do they want it done.  Does it
REALLY matter how they get to the
ministry, so long as they get there?

The budget involved in six invisible
horse, in addition the the Ministry
battle, Hagrid's brother, ect and so
forth, would be huge.  And budgets, in
any movie, are the bottom line.  The
cheaper you can make it, the more the
studio loves you.

If I were the one standing behind the
camera, trying to put this together as
true to the books as possible, yet
exciting for the 'movie fans' (people
like my mother who dont' read but go to
every movie), and still keep the studio
happy, I would jump at the chance to
change the mode of arrival simply for
it being cheaper, and frankly more
accessible to ALL movie goers, not just
those who read the book and know what
the heck a Thestral is.

It would also cut out the Care of
Magical creatures class explaining the
horses and bump more space for the main
plot of occulamancy and the Ministry,
which I think all fans would enjoy,
even us die hards. :o)

Frankly, I'm predicting a movie of
Grimald
Place/Feast/Umbridge/Snape/lessons/flas
hback/battle with major focus being on
the battle.

Could be wrong, but generally the
movies tend to fit the standard pattern
of hitting major points and cutting out
everything you don't need.
