I would be almost entirely positive that the stylists who dress the
teens tell them to wear this and I'm sure the producers like what
they wear. I honestly feel like they look like they walked out of an
American Eagle ad. Their well distressed and looked worn, but
probably are not. I buy most of my jeans with holes in them already
and I like the ones that look dirty. It's a very stylish thing right
now and since the popularity of the HP stars has grown as they've
grown, they want them to look trendy. I know my mom complains to no
end about the amound of money me and my brother spend on these
clothes (especially the ripped jeans and faded shirts). I think part
of it probably is based on what the kids usually wear, but in the
same respect they are idols to come kids who want to see what they're
favorite stars/hearthrobs are wearing. I'm not that much older than
Dan and I definitely see the way he dresses now as being very stylish
and in. They may not look 'professional', but they look like stars.
As far as Dan's hair, I think it looks very sexy in the
interviews/clips of GoF. I think it is again very trendy and what
not. I'm pretty sure that's the very reason that they let them do it.

Thanks for this, Lindsay. My kids are grown and gone, so I don't keep up
with the young people's styles the way I used to. Yes, I think Dan's hair
looks great in the movie -- it didn't look as good in the interview clips as it
did in the movie, IMO, but I do like it long. I suspect they had the boys
grow their hair out to show they're older, and partly because long hair looks
neat in the water, and with the Second Task being underwater. . .well, I think
they'll look great!
