See, what I'm thinking is that maybe they don't jive *intentionally* and 
it's supposed to be a somewhat inaccurate portrayal of Werewolves, Those 
Dangerous Monsters. It's book canon that Lupin's prematurely aged - I'd 
assume due to stress.

I also found the parts about various ways of becoming a werewolf to be 
interesting - "the change can be voluntary (at will), or can be forced by 
certain cycles of the moon and certain sounds (such as howling)." Who in 
their right *mind* would change into something so uncontrolled 
*voluntarily?*
