Jen here,
Candace,
If you go back to POA, you'll see Harry and that damnable clock
together at least once but the clock is referred back to often. I can
watch and count. I had noticed this fact, in conjunction with the
time-turner thing in the end and this idea of Harry being out of
time, to get his permission slip signed, that time was closing in on
him in regards to Sirius finding and possibly killing him, time with
Lupin (that monthly problem of his) all sorts of references to time.
Richard, whom you didn't know, often discussed the thematic elements
of HP in regards to how the directors approached them and before he
huffed out of here, he'd promised to discuss the theme of "time" in
POA. I don't pretend to be much of a film expert so I was very much
looking forward to his take on this idea. I have always had a problem
with POA, being so conceptually different from the books, not to
mention truncating things so thoroughly, well I digress. But as I
said, watching POA Sunday, I sort of let all my previous
disgruntledness go so I could enjoy the film and I did. So, long
answer to a short question, but thanks for asking! I am still hoping
to understand this "time" aspect of POA. Any film buffs out there
have a handle on this?
Jen D. (with too much time on her hands, obviously...)
