Carol responds:
I think that if her Patronus symbolized Harry, it would be the
Gryffindor lion rather than Fawkes. :-)

But seriously, it's possible that Michael Goldenberg, the scriptwriter
for OoP, didn't assign Ginny a particular Patronus. it could have been
the special effects department. After all, she's not using it for
anything urgent (driving Dementors away). She's just practicing the
Patronus Charm in the RoR. I suspect it was largely for show.

Anyone remember Harry's Dementor Boggart showing up in Lupin's class?
Surely that's not the screenwriter, Steven Kloves's, doing because
it's inconsistent with what Lupin tells Harry on the bridge about
expecting the Boggart to be Voldemort.

Also, isn't the source of this information an unofficial review by a
fan who saw the unfinished film? Maybe he or she only thought it was a
Phoenix.

At any rate, Ginny's Phoenix Patronus isn't canonical, even movie
canonical, yet. And I'm hoping that it will never be book canonical.
It just makes no sense--unless it really does symbolize Fawkes's role
in her rescue, and even then, Fawkes helped to rescue Harry, who
rescued Ginny, so the Patronus should reflect Harry, not Dumbledore,
and a Phoenix just doesn't do that, in my view.

Carol, sharing Julie's hope that trimming Lily from what ought to be a
Pensieve scene (that much probably *is* Goldber'gs doing, or the
director's) indicates that Snape's remorse stems from some other cause
than unrequited love for Lily

P.S. I just realized that Young Lily was cast, so that moment must
have been cut, or she must show up in some other way
