Keep in mind that we are not seeing a fair cross section of
the students in the school. We are seeing the elite students,
those who qualified for the tournament.
In addition, we could be seeing a social bias, rather than a
reflection of the make up of the student body. Beauxbatons
teachers and administrators may favor girls because they are
more well behaved and cooperative. Durmstrang may favor males
because they are more aggressive and competitive. Now, I
realize I am somewhat preying on stereo types, but I did say
the selection represents a BIAS at those schools.
So, while I think the movies did it to emphasis the important
characteristic of each school, I don't think it was truly and
attempt to define the student bodies of those schools. So, in
a sense, I think we are seeing 'movie shorthand', make a point
quickly and move on.
Just a thought.
