Actually, I was talking about two different situations. 

With HP we have movies based on books. These movies need to be true to 
the books. And you've come up with some very likely movie-changes to 
canon. I think the elder Barty Crouch's death was shown differently in 
the movie than in the book--much like your suggestions.

But I was thinking that a movie fan who hasn't read the books would 
have different expectations for upcoming events, because movies in 
general handle plots differently than books do. Although it seems Steve 
already knows what's coming next.
