the "run time" of the film. The run time of the film actually
includes the 20-30 minutes of previews at the beginning of the
film. So if we are looking to make more room for more HP screen
time, why not delete three to four of the tedious previews for
films that nobody really wants to see. <snip>

My husband and I also enjoy the credits - not for the credits,
although it is interesting when I find out that some star I'm
aware of has played a minor role and I didn't catch it while
watching the movie - but for the music! However, I am extremely
annoyed when the movie makers feel they will add just one last
scene to the VERY end - coming after all those boring credits. If
they're going to put that in, just put it in at the end of the
stinkin' movie: I don't want to watch all those credits every
time I watch the movie at home!!
Of course, I'm also annoyed by all the previews in home videos.
Can't they just put those in another category - "trailers" or
"previews" or some such - and let me get right to the movie? But
then, they don't ask me. I guess life's not supposed to be
annoyance-free. <

Actually Pat, you should be happy that they put all those trailers
on your home videos because if they didn't it would cost a minimum
of $100.00 to purchase a movie. They sell the spots on the videos
so the moives can be sold at a cheaper price.
The reason they some times stick more movie after the credits is
so people will sit and watch the credits. There are a lot of
people involved in making a movie (not just the people we see on
the screen) and it is all hard work so they want to make sure we
know the people behind the scenes as well. It has always been
that way, the only difference is that it is easier to read them
now. In the 70's especially you had to study speed reading to
read them LOL.
