Confession time. I have, on occasion (and not due to pregnancy
either) indulged in eating Branston pickle out of the jar. (We're
back to snacks of doom here). It's actually very nice. It isn't
like a paste - more small chunks of pickled vegetables in a brown
sauce (similar consistency to HP I think). I'm not sure what turns it
brown, but it's like a richer, less spicy version of Piccallili - do
you have that in the States? It is best served with good cheese, or
ham.
Can any of other English members of the group please confirm that I'm
not mad, and that it's a least preferable to eating marmite that way?!
